Patrick Evans serves as President of the Illinois Energy Association (IEA), which helps coordinate government relations and legislative strategies for the investor-owned utilities and electric generation companies in Illinois. Before becoming its President, Mr. Evans served five years as Vice President and 15 years as Director of Governmental Affairs for the association.  In these roles, he has been directly involved in all major energy policy proposals in Illinois for more than 20 years, most recently as a stakeholder during the negotiations of the Future Energy Jobs Act (FEJA) and Clean Energy Jobs Act (CEJA).  He began his career as a legislative analyst for the Illinois House Republican Caucus managing issues before the Public Utilities, Environment and Energy, Telecommunications and Local Government, and Personnel and Pensions Committees, along with assisting on the Illinois capital budget and the Illinois Commerce Commission budget. Mr. Evans earned his B.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and completed a prestigious graduate internship program with the Illinois General Assembly through the University of Illinois Springfield.
